Infinity Dreams Award.

I would like to thank naughty innocence for nominating me for this award. If you want to check out her post pertaining to the nomination you can check it out here .

Here are the rules:

1)Tell us 11 facts about yourself.
2)Answer the questions that were set for you to answer
3)Nominate 5-10 bloggers and set questions for them.

Here’s 11 facts about myself

1) Apart from the fact that I like games (RPGs mostly) I can spend hours upon hours on a single one, for example, Fallout 4; right after its release day, I went AWOL.

2)My favorite underground rap duos include Black Star, The R.O.O.T.S and Actual Proof.

3)Most of the time when i’m writing, i’m either listening to music or I have a beat in my head.

4)I love cats and dogs, for different reasons though. Cats are calm and collected, only exhibiting interest in you when they’re hungry (mostly) haha I find that fascinating. Dogs on the other hand, are just awesome, nothing beats that connection you can have with a pet dog, most loyal friend ever.

5)I’m always on the move between Zimbabwe, South Africa and Russia.

6)I only have three close friends.

7)Wanna bribe me? Jelly babies are the ticket.

8)All-time favorite sitcom, How I Met Your Mother; expertly executed humor and viewer immersion. Plus, most of the jokes land, not to mention the amazing love story.

9)I’m a good listener; or so i’m told. hehe I’d like to believe I am.

10)I’ve never liked people who try to pull me down or tell me I can’t do something because of A or B.

11)I’m probably mean for all the truth bombs I drop, but honestly, I expect people to bomb me with the truth too.

11 Questions asked

Which place do you reside in ?

I reside in Moscow, Russia, but I was born in Gweru, Zimbabwe. I’m proud to be from there; contrary to the media’s portrayal, we don’t fight wild animals on a daily.

Any specific things you enjoy about the place?

Moscow: the fact that its predominantly snowy, not a fan of summer.

The love of writing stories, I just wanted to introduce my style of writing to everyone I knew.

Reading novels, playing games and listening to music. Never became a fan of movies especially after the interactive experience of games.

Meeting a new world constituent

Still brings the same giddy feeling

A feeling invisible to the naked eye.

And then another familiarity arises

Skepticism, from supposition one,

A natural constant

That can-not be undone.

With my sharp memory as a wing-man

I chisel decisions with intelligence

Gathered from past experiences

Sculpting my next move.

“Do I trust this person?”

I ask, pressuring myself

As if the answer

To that recurring question

Is necessitated to oxygen levels.

Looking at the person, I slowly dissect

What I can

Coming and going in their presence

So much so,

Like the Doppler Effect.

Trying my best

Not to place them, on that vacant pedestal

Fighting that ever-surfacing naivety

Dining with Reality,

Instead of my far-fetched fantasies.

The ever-changing terrain,

Of the road so far

Ups and downs,

Like a life line

Just more for the adventure,

Mountains on one end,

Flat ground on the other

With category five storms,

That could tore you asunder.

A witness to life’s montage of events,

And sometimes

An unwilling contributor.

When the bad is hurled in my direction,

I try, with all I have,

To stop hope from diminishing,

Its simple really, mainly ’cause

I’d rather have anything,

But that drive finishing.

Dante’s corner

Its been a solid year I have to say, when I started this blog I never thought I’d get this far in such a short amount of time (80+ posts). I believe I’ve developed significantly as a writer and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some good people, who im proud to call friends. I haven’t been posting much and i’d love to say its because I was recruited for the Justice League, spending time in the Bat Cave; but its due to pre-planning, for my (super cool) sister’s wedding, among other things. With all this moving around I might not get the chance to post any time soon (merry christmas in advance, oh and a happy new year) however I hope to see a lot of creative pieces when I get back. For now all my attention will be focussed on making sure my sister’s wedding is Legen- (wait for it…)

*My CyberSpace

Short and precise

This is but a slice

Of what I wish to share

This month has truly been a snare

Of vast proportions, trapping free time

Without this,  I’m no different from a mime

Over-exaggeration? ..maybe

Its actually kinda crazy

How often I think

Of what i’ll write

when I come back to this space

My one and only

Special place.

Just, remembering …

2djs3RGI remember the days when people used to take the time to write a letter and send it to the Post-office; and the recipient, knowing full well that it’d take days or even weeks for a letter to get to its intended destination would pour their heart out on paper; marking every detail as clearly as possible. With texts and chat, the playing field has had a serious do-over, immediate communication prompts effortless responses, and unfortunately with every emerging generation the words in texts just keep getting shorter.

I asked anonymous once, “why do people rid the alphabet of its job?” and the response I got was, “We do it to save time” … … …Yes, because putting a single ‘y’ in ‘My’ will surely shorten your lifespan …

Call me a detail freak, but honestly, I’d rather chat with someone who uses proper wording, than someone wHu T0Ks LYk Th!S.

On the bright side: those who can’t spell have an easy out …

1000 wonderful people!

To be honest I’ve never had so many followers and it brings me great joy knowing people actually look at what I write.  It might not be  much for others because they have 14 000+ followers, but to me, it signals progress. I began Blogging 7 months ago, and I’ve met a lot of lovely people since then; it truly is an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. whether the follower counter goes to 980 or 1001 after this post does not matter, I’ll continue to do everything I can to keep my readers captivated.

Many thanks to the people who supported me, from the bottom of my heart.

(Note to self: when you hit 2 000 have a cheer-leading squad ready)

Boarding – Gate Something

Hey everyone,

Its been a crazy four months of writing; I wish it was all poetry though; those assignments always find a way of making their presence known. Oh and lets not forget the exams that kept playing tag team with the rest of my course-work. Never-the-less, its been an interesting experience.

I’ll be moving to a new place temporarily, and while I’m there, I’ll unfortunately not be able to post as frequently as I usually do. However, I believe this ‘break’ will give me time to reflect on a lot of things happening in my life. I’ll continue writing though, that way I’ll have more to post when I get back.

If you happen to find the time to visit my blog and read some of my old posts please leave a comment and tell me what you think; it would mean a lot to me.

Otherwise I hope everyones’ week is going well, mine certainly is; the reason for that will be revealed later on…

“Oh, no, suspense!?”

(*gasp!*) =O

Virtual Blog Tour – The WordPress Express.

First of all, I would like to thank Neha for featuring me on the Virtual Blog Tour (VBT). It’s such an honor, especially because her work is very creative and truly inspiring; If you are looking for a blogger who’s not only consistent but provides diverse content you should check out her blog as soon as possible. Here is the link

The usual formula for the VBT is to feature three bloggers, and this is not easy considering there are a lot of talented writers to be found here. At this point, many bloggers I know had already been featured, as a result I only had two people to feature for the VBT:

BenjaminSolak  : Are you looking for  motivation or words that will give you zeal to conquer the day? well BenjaminSolak is the blogger for that. His work makes you think about life overall and overcoming obstacles that hinder our day-to-day lives. He also puts a lot of work into his posts, and that is something I’ve always enjoyed about his blog.

Krista’s Blog : Krista is a very honest blogger, always relaying her thoughts and emotions about the world as she sees it. Her blog provides a new perspective to writing that I haven’t seen in others and I believe that helps her stand out. She devotes her heart to poetry and makes it no secret that she loves writing. Check out her blog, there is a lot of interesting content to be found.

Now the following are questions I’m supposed to answer relating to my writing process, this should be interesting. 🙂

1.) What am I working on?

At the moment I’m working on quite a number of projects. In my last post I mentioned the short-novel I’m writing titled Broken Pieces; the first chapter will be released soon. I’m also working on a set of poems with my friends, I’ve been looking to collaborate with as many people as possible over the coming months. This is in an effort to explore different styles of writing; I’ve always believed that I can learn something new by writing with someone else. (side note: me and ‘a very special someone’ are planning to collaborate on an entire anthology in the later future)

2.) How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I believe my work to be a part of me. Every time I write something it has to link with actual events that occur in my life. I might write about the moon, the sea or the sun, but an aspect of that will always relate to something happening in my life.  The link might be in one sentence, but one thing is for certain, it always has to be there.

3.) Why do I write/create what I do?

I write because I like the thought of someone else reading my piece and enjoying it. I especially love putting a little twist and witnessing the reactions that follow. I always want to think of something original; to make people think in a way they haven’t before. In the end, what mainly drives me to write is the joy it brings; my best form of escapism.

4.) How does your writing creative process work?

I usually brainstorm titles, no matter how dumb they might sound. From there I take the one I find interesting and leave the rest for later. My drafts are always hand-written, I enjoy having a tangible copy of my work at all times. If I don’t brain-storm titles I write what comes to mind, sometimes it works on the first shot; but sometimes, well, an editing marathon ensues.

And that’s all ladies and gentlemen, thank you for taking the time to read this VBT, it means a lot. Please check out the featured bloggers when you have the time. Enjoy the rest of your day. 🙂
