//Not Complicated//

Ours is a world

That does not need you

To understand.

There are layers to this micro poem some will fully uncover. At least I hope they do; always happy to find like minds.

I’ll be touching on one of the layers below:

Understanding. Be okay with not understanding a writer in your household or direct vicinity. Be okay with accepting the fact that our complexity is not a gimmick, it’s who we are. In truth, we’re not complex at all; we’re just difficult to categorize. We become complex when you try to understand us through our functions (don’t). And why would you even try to categorize a writer, let alone people in general? What sick games are you playing?

Be in the moment. Have a conversation with us without having to try your hardest to connect dots as to why we do the things we do.

We’re not your puzzle to solve.

We do not need fixing.

Fix yourself.

The sooner you accept that, the better we’ll get along.

(But that’s just one writer’s thoughts…)

Another collaboration with my ultra-talented friend Kim from the blog Peace, Love and Patchouli

Took us a while to finish this one but it was worth it. I’ve collaborated with her on multiple poems now (this is the third)

If you are interested in seeing our previous collaborations here they are:

All Together Now.

Higher Love

Visit her blog and bear witness to how she brings light into the world through her amazing writing 🙂

***********

The world, our canvas

Is as clear as it could ever be

Impromptu strokes, beyond stoked

For the surprise, I am yet to see.

Follow the scene of my soul,

lighter moments of colour

Paint the scene of my mind

Keeping pace with the road ahead

As steps move us forward,

In places where anything goes.

Lo and behold

Paintbrush bristles, kiss the poetic palate

Imprinting our souls and what they see;

A persistent light in the unrelenting darkness

Painting pictures with words that appraise

What the rest of the world

Would not hesitate taking for granted.

I follow my bliss with a like-minded soul

Travelling into the paradise of beauty

And I know you will follow me to the end of days,

In this moment we shall walk together

Basking in the creation we become

Upon this canvas of a place called life

Treading lightly into the miracle of now.

Core.

little_forest_by_ryky-dcckqim.png

Snug in your cocoon

Surrounded by a confined style you are accustomed to

Why waste time thinking of anything outside your small world

When it is certainly more comfortable to ignore the unknown?

The only time you take the time to burst out

Is to build an even bigger cocoon which –

Surprise, surprise! encapsulates the smaller cocoon;

A medley of cocoons, naturally representative

Of the comfort you take

In making layers that pad the very core

Of your unbound ignorance.

I’m thinking of making voice notes about some of the stuff I discuss after my poems; I feel its more intimate and certainly more engaging.

Please let me know in the comment section what you think about the idea 🙂

The Light To Your Darkness.

20180320_131221.png

Indecisiveness leaves little to nothing

In the way of progress,

Resist the deceitful comfort of stagnancy;

Blaming the world is, and always

Will be the easiest.

But it owes us nothing, Instead

Cherish those you love

Live life as best you can;

Put your heart in the right place

And be the light to people’s darkness.

Results came in for the blog awards, a week back if I’m not mistaken. I never really got to share the news because I was way too busy — also I didn’t win anything 😀 haha. Going into the blog awards I wasn’t necessarily expecting to win, but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. So, thanks again to everyone who voted for me and congratulations to those who won 🙂

Have you ever had a question for me but was hesitant or afraid to ask? Well, you can always get do that by using Curious Cat; and the best part is you can ask anonymously. So if you’re afraid of heat, you won’t get any; not that there’s any heat 🙂

Fidus Achates. (revisited)

Friend count,

Not more than one’s fingers

A handful,

But undeniably beautiful

Set of people,

Friends so good, If I could

I’d rent them out

Reluctantly, for a day

So others can experience

This undescribable feeling

Surely having people

Who can make you

Smile this much,

Is illegal.
