People will tell you that an island needs to be surrounded by water. It (the island) needs to be able to sustain life (plants and animals) — and if it can’t, it’s just a rock. They’ll tell you that there’s no definitive scale for anyone to begin calling a landmass an ‘Island’.
To be an island, the landmass needs to be “entirely surrounded by water” but it needs to be “smaller than a continent” — real specific there Britannica.
So I can’t call continents “islands” because continents are bigger than islands
And I can’t call islands “continents” because islands aren’t as big as continents.
