(( Sound ))

Life is what I make it.

At times, feeling like an endless litmus test,

The universe intent, on testing my resolve through

Non-consensual circumstances, all surfacing

At the most inconvenient moments.

“The universe can do what it wants”, said Certainty,

When it comes to that,

You will hear no arguments from me.

When I think about it, its probably for the best, after all

I used a mortarboard I earned on the plane that exists before this

To hold my place here, prior to certifying my current existence;

Ahead of my class, yet my Maker thought my potential had yet to reach its peak

Proceeded to grace me with a gift and a curse for words.

I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, I am, however,

Everyone can do many things, but not the same as I do with words

Put the big bad wolf to the side when I speak

All within the same breath,

I send thatch, sticks and bricks to the world’s edge.

After that,  I reset my parameters and think of nothing,

Then think nothing of what you are thinking, about me,

Proceed to write about the entirety of that experience

With a synthesis that makes you conscious

Of the wavelength attuned to the sound of ink.

Am I arrogant? Probably.

Do I know where my gifts come from? Certainly.

  1. This piece is an absolute example of stellar poetry!
I am in awe of your writing Dante, reading such a marvellous piece.
The beginning lines will be one of my favourite metaphors for Life, an endless litmus test.

To be honest with the analysis, I feel this poetry is an essential instance of growing, of realising and becoming aware of your gifts and cherishing them. I did not feel any bit of immodesty in this piece probably because I have felt some emotions along the same lines.
This poem is adorned with such exemplary scientific metaphors and abstract of your creativity that I am enchanted by the art of writing at this moment.

    Enigma 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Enigma 🙂 I feel like our writing is usually on the same lane of thought and we can appreciate it.

If I could inspire you even for a second, then I believe I have done some good in the world 🙂 I hope you are well.

      1. It is a pleasure to read your works. You have inspired me countless of times, Dante. I am well I guess just struggling with writing, thank you but tell me, how are you?

        Enigma 🙂

      2. I am flattered to hear that. Thank you 🙂

I am okay Enigma, the best works seem to come at a time when I am on the verge of being depressed lol working on myself to see the good in my current situation. Thank you for asking 😀 😀 😀
