***********
When it all fades to black
Like the end of a motion picture,
Despair morphing into a beast
Looking to take control
Distorting my peripheral vision
Chewing a bigger fraction of my pie chart …
I, in turn,
Hunt like a blood hound
For what is rightfully mine,
I grip the collar of my dreams
Put them on a leash,
Make them recite my name
Till they realize they are not aligned
With anything or anyone except me,
In a world as cruel as ours,
When fighting for the good of others
Vying for justice,
Being gentle can only last so long.

Thank you IC! 😉
Wow, really left me breathless 😀
Haha Thank you! 🙂
A fine addition to the collaboration my friend ❤
Thanks…almost felt like the tone was getting dark in the end while writing it lol 😀
Nah, it’s very Dante, moving through the gamut of feelings we all hold, that’s why it’s beautiful and we can relate💕😊
Haha i guess it is very Dante 😀
This was so fierce and strong. Toward the end, I felt myself holding my breath lol. Great job!
Thanks for taking the time to read Jo! 🙂
Dark and I liked the underlying feel of sexual tension.
Fave lines- “Put them on a leash, Make them recite my name”
Hope you’ll swing over for a visit. -Fallen

This part especially “grabbed” me: “I grip the collar of my dreams / Put them on a leash”. Cool poem. 🙂
